Important announcement: MARK YOUR CALENDARS:
The next important meeting is at the Town Hall on Wende Rd on Tuesday, January 9 at 7pm It has been confirmed to us that the Planning Board will review the request for re-zoning of a major portion of the property aka Martin Farm.
Don't be fooled into thinking that Russo Developers is "doing the right thing" by reducing their request of some of acreage since it's partially on wetlands and our source of drinking water. (It was our coalition that proved to the Army Corp of Engineers that they were in violation of dredging the water off the property and on to the neighbors.) There is still over 60 acres of property that he wants to pave over. The pollutants from the area will still drain into the aquifer and surrounding homes. Avoiding building (for now) on the wetlands is merely "smoke & mirrors".
We've had great attendence at previous town meetings, and expect this one to be even bigger. Mark your calendars and please plan to attend. Send your message loud and clear to the planning board that recommending that the town board approve this rezoning is NOT in the best interests of our community.
This meeting is open to the public, and usually the public is offered the opportunity to participate in the meeting. Come prepared to ask questions, and make statements. Tell your friends and neighbors!
